Jessop rewards meritorious children of employees

 
Kolkata, 10 July 2006: In a brief function at Rotary Sadan today Mrs Sarita Ruia, handed over Rs 5100 to each of the 22 recipients of Chairman’s Scholarship for the year 2006.
The educational incentive called Chairman’s Scholarship is for children of Jessop employees and is given to 5 top scorer boys and 5 top scorer girls who appeared for Madhyamik or equivalent examinations this year; and 5 top scorer girls and 5 top scorer boys who appeared for Uccha Madhyamik or equivalent examinations this year. This year four of the recipients got 90% or more marks in their respective examinations. Two special cases have been included in this year’s list. Each reward carries Rs 5100 as cash award and a citation from the Chairman.
Speaking on the occasion Mr Pawan Kumar Ruia, Chairman, Jessop & Co Ltd said, “ I embraced the employees of Jessop as my extended family right on the first day I walked into the plant in 2003 and this was a token of appreciation for the bright children in my extended family.” He added that for the talented children of the employees of Jessop & Co Ltd scholarships for studying in prime institutions abroad would shortly be introduced.
Jessop is a Kolkata-based engineering and infrastructure company and uses the phrase ‘Engineering the Future’ in its corporate advertisements.
